The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) is the leading whale and dolphin research and education charity on the west coast of Scotland, working hard to conserve cetacean species for the future. Our vital work makes a difference, but costs money. As a small charity we rely on the generous support received from people like you, to sustain our programmes. We are always grateful for any donation, whether big or small. Funds through donations are particularly useful, as these monies are unrestricted. This means that the money can be used in any way HWDT deems fit and really assists with long term development and planning of the Trust and its activities. We welcome donations of money and also of equipment.

Equipment donations

As a charity, and with most of our funds being directed to our projects, donations of specific equipment can really make a difference in our offices and Visitor Centre. Currently we would benefit greatly from the following equipment donations:

Binoculars (adult and child)
Digital SLR camera with up to 200 or 300mm zoom/fixed lenses for photo-identification work
Office stationery and consumables
Laptops
A heavy-duty colour printer
Office computer software: Microsoft Office suite, PhotoShop, Manifold
Printer cartridges for: HP colour LaserJet 1600, HP LaserJet 1020 and Lexmark Z735
Toner for photocopier Aticio Rex-Rotary 1308
Two flat screen monitors
A washing machine and drier
A fridge/freezer
A portable colour T.V. with DVD, for use in our Visitor Centre
Aerators for marine touch tanks

Parties Around the World

Parties Around the World is a new way to throw a great birthday party. The host of an upcoming birthday party can use PAW™ to ask guests to make a donation to HWDT, rather than bring a present. Click HERE to find out how to throw a dolphin or whale party.

Monetary donations

HWDT are currently appealing to supporters to join our 'Go Fifty' campaign, encouraging 200 friends to donate £50 (or as much as can be afforded) to maintain the Trust through the current cash flow situation. To find out more click here.
