Partners and Sponsors

The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust is based in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, with a seasonal base on Ardnamurchan.  Currently most of its research and education work takes place through the Argyll Islands with some additional work further North throughout the Hebrides, along the West Coast and with educational and awareness-raising work taking place throughout Scotland.

The Trust is a Research and Education Organisation which doesn not currently have the resources to be a campaigning organisation.  However it does work closely with partner organisations and sits on the Marine Task Force of Scottish Environment Link alongside World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Marine Conservation Society, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and National Trust for Scotland (NTS).

Funders

As a charity we recieve donations from the general public but there are organisations and individuals who have kindly donated either time, money or resources so that we can continue our valuable work.  All of these donations, however small, are extremely valuable but some of them deserve special mention:

At present the Trust is primarily funded from the Heritage Lottery Fund, with additional funding from Scottish Natural Heritage and the Argyll Islands and Highlands Enterprise board for projects under the NÀDAIR scheme.  This is an area wide resource bid, funding 32 heritage-based projects in the area of the Argyll Islands.  All these projects focus on the sustainable development of the outstanding natural, archaeological, historical, cultural and geological interest of the Argyll Islands whilst protecting existing jobs and creating new employment opportunities. As well as these specifically selected projects under NÀDAIR the Trust receives support from many, many sources, not least from its generous members.
